The unemployment reason code directory outlines categories that identify why a person left their last job or why they are currently seeking work. The reference for these categories and codes is the Eurostat EU-LFS Database User Guide

Code	Category	Description
01	Dismissed or made redundant	The job was terminated by the employer (e.g., business closure, staff cuts).
02	A job of limited duration has ended	Fixed-term contracts, seasonal work, or temporary agency work completion.
03	Personal or family responsibilities	Caring for children, elderly, or other domestic tasks.
04	Own illness or disability	Leaving due to health issues that prevent work.
05	Education or training	Leaving to return to school, university, or vocational training.
06	Retirement	Normal retirement or early retirement from the labor market.
07	Military or community service	Compulsory or voluntary service (where applicable).
08	Other reasons	Resignations for personal reasons not covered above or "dissatisfaction."
