Countries that choose to use ICSE-93 employment statuses can use this code directory to further categorize the employees status based on the stability and duration of the contract. It represents a sub-classification of employee Status under ICSE-18.

Code	Value	Description
1	Permanent	Employees who are guaranteed a minimum number of hours of work and are employed on an ongoing or indefinite basis
2	Fixed-term	Employees who are guaranteed a minimum number of hours of work and are employed on a time-limited basis for a period of three months or more.
3	Casual	Employees with short-term employment arrangements and/or without a guaranteed minimum number of hours of work per pay period
4	Seasonal	Employees with jobs or work activities whose timing and duration are significantly influenced by seasonal factors such as climatic seasons, holidays and agricultural preparations or harvests.
5	Paid apprentices, trainees and interns	Employees who perform any activity to produce goods or provide services for others, in order to acquire workplace experience or skills in a trade or profession and receive payment in return for work performed
