Example 1: Cash assistance program refers beneficiaries to an employment support program

Process Flow

This example illustrates how the PRS.EMP.01: Referral of Social Protection Program Beneficiaries to Employment Support Programs can be implemented where a cash assistance program refers its program beneficiaries to an employment support program for consideration in employment support programs.

In this example, the process is implemented at the enrollment phase of the social protection delivery chain, specifically at the benefit determination stage. During the assessment, if a program officer determines that an applicant could also benefit from the Employment Support Program, they request the applicant’s consent to share their details with the employment support program and refer them for consideration. Referral to the program does not guarantee enrollment; the decision to enroll the referred individuals is made by the employment support program based on whether they meet the program requirements.
